TRAINING Step by Step


All officials must complete the following steps to officiate for the upcoming season.

(1) The Online Course

To complete the course you must have a current USL membership. Click HERE and follow the instructions to sign up for Women’s Games Officiating Online Course. This course is self paced through It can also be accessed through your ARBITER account under USLacrosse Central Hub/ Women’s Officials/Online Courses.

(2) NFHS Concussion Course

(3) Classroom Training

All officials are required to complete a minimum of a  full day classroom training OR two evenings (depending on what is offered in your area), a rules interpretation clinic, a half day on the field.  Juniors do not need to attend a rules interpretation clinic.

All Officials must:

  •  Attend one full classroom day
  • Attend one play day for on field training (4 hours)

(4) Field Training

  Field Training dates are also listed in the Schedule of Events. 

(5) Rules Test and Sign Documentation

Instructions on accessing the USL Women’s Officials online exam. 

All officials must print and SIGN the following 2019 ncwlua independent contractor form

All officials should read and understand the CONFLICT of INTEREST POLICY



The requirements above provide for certification as a USL Officials and are designed to meet the requirements of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) schools regardless of Section (NCS, CCS, SJC etc).
